Newsletter – 24th February 2017

Welcome back – we hope you all enjoyed the mid-term break!!  As the weather has suddenly decided to turn nasty again, may we remind you that all children should have suitable warm jackets for outdoors and it would be a huge benefit if P1-3 children could keep a change of clothes in school please.

World Book Day

To celebrate World Book Day, we would like to invite all pupils to dress up as a character from a book of their choice on Thursday, 2nd March 2017.  Please, however, do not go to any trouble over this – a t-shirt, scarf or face paint is just as good as a fancy outfit; we just want to have a bit of fun in school J

The Nursery children will be joining P1-3 for a short story and snack-time and we look forward to welcoming them over.

Cross Country Championships

Ardross will again be entering a team for the Championships which will take place at Alness Academy on Friday, 3rd March.  P4-7 children competing will receive details home in a separate note.  We wish them all the best of luck and hope for some decent weather!

Appointments out of School

Please note that if your child needs to attend an appointment, we do need a note from Parents or at least a phone call, detailing the time of this.  We cannot accept the word of the child.  The same applies if your child is off sick; we need a note or a phone call please, we cannot go by a sibling’s message.

Please also note that if, for any reason, your child is not in school first thing in the morning but will be back for lunch, we do need a phone call/message left with their lunch order.  All orders must be in to the kitchen by 9.30am if a meal is required that day.  Many thanks.

Children In Need

To raise money for Children in Need, the school will be selling Red Noses from Monday, 6th March through to Friday, 24th March, which is Children in Need Day.  Noses will be available at £1 each and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

To add to the fun on the day, pupils are invited to come to school in their pyjamas and donate £1 (or a donation of your choice!) to Children in Need.
