News Update – November 2015

As you all know, this is an extremely busy term in school but we will do our best to keep you up to date with what’s happening!  All families should have received details of the school’s emergency closure phone and pin number but please contact the school if not – hopefully we won’t need to use it!

Home-time Changes/Illness

Please can we ask that any changes to pupil attendance or home-time arrangements are phoned in to school and, if nobody available, a message is left on the answer machine.  Lately there have been issues with our internet, meaning emails are not always picked up straight away; also Fiona only works part-time so is not always around to check emails.  Many thanks.

Photograph Orders

There was a problem with the computer when the children’s school photograph’s were taken which resulted in the delay getting the proofs to you, apologies for that.  Please can I have any orders in a.s.a.p. to ensure a swift return.  Many thanks.

Fayre/Performance

As you all know, we unfortunately had to cancel our planned Fayre this year due to another one taking place in Alness on the same day and very few bookings for ours.  However, we have decided instead to put on a Winter Performance in the Ardross Hall at 7pm on Thursday, 17th December.  There will be tea & coffee, raffle and a few stalls on the evening.  Tickets are available in advance from the office or on the door on the evening – £5/adult and £3 concession.  We hope you will all come and support the children who are working extremely hard to put “Pirates versus Mermaids” together J All welcome.

Library Van

The next visit from the mobile library will be on Tuesday, 8th December.  As this will be the last visit to school this year, please ensure any books due back are returned.  Many thanks.

Capstone Centre

P1-4 pupils have been invited to attend the Capstone Centre for ‘Christmas Unwrapped’ on Thursday, 10th December.  This is demonstrating the Christmas story in a visual, fun and interactive way for the children.  Transport will be arranged and children will be supervised by school staff at all times.

Ardross Church

Rev Jones will be holding his Annual Church of Scotland Carol Service on Sunday, 13th December at 3pm in the Ardross Church.  ALL WELCOME.

As always, he is looking for a child/children to do a reading in Church on the day.  If your child would like to take part, please contact Fiona in the office for the script as soon as possible.
