Welcome back to you all after the October holidays – we hope you enjoyed a lovely break! We are now heading into one of our busiest terms of the year but will do our best to keep you updated on what’s happening in school.
School Visits
Feis Rois will continue to visit P4-7 each week until the end of November for music tuition. We are also delighted to have a visit today from the SSPCA for both classes. The Youth Development Team from Alness Academy will visit P1-3 on Thursday, 5th November for some fun dancing.
Halloween Party
A reminder that the party will take place in the Ardross Hall tomorrow night, Thursday 29th October, from 6-8pm. All school and nursery children are very welcome; entry fee is £3 each and there will be prizes for best costume and best lanterns. For those of you dropping off/collecting children, please note that for security purposes the doors will be locked during the party. Parents who have volunteered to help are obviously welcome to stay.
School Lunch Amendment
Every home should have received a copy of the new lunch menu which began on Monday, if you require one please contact Fiona in the office. Please note that Mondays on Week 2 will now be fish fingers rather than fish cakes.
Photographer
Jean from Tempest Photography will be in school on Tuesday, 3rd November to take both individual and family photographs. These will then be sent home for approval but there is no obligation to purchase.
Fluenz Immunisations
NHS school nursing team have informed us that they will be in school on Wednesday, 4th November to immunise those children who have returned a consent form for the Flu Immunisation by nasal spray.
The Scottish Poppy Appeal
The charity has launched their annual appeal and, as always, poppies are now available in school for donations. Please help us support this worthwhile cause.
Friday Afternoons
A reminder to any parents who may be available on a Friday afternoon (from 1.15pm) that they are extremely welcome to come into school and help out with our enterprise projects. As we only have six Fridays until our Winter Fayre on 5th December, your input to help the children prepare crafts etc. would be much appreciated.
NB Tables are available to book to sell your own goods at the Fayre at a cost of £10 each. Please contact Fiona in the office on 01349 882345.
